We would like you to know that if Mary Pickford was still alive, she would think that this cocktail menu was the Bee's Knees. ![]() While we aren't a 1920's speakeasy, we are a little Old Fashioned and we would like to have The Final Word. Our cocktail list was created to give you a small taste of the history of Dubuque and prohibition worldwide. They did not offer to move us or to have extra seating so we could be comfortable. No one was seated at this tables during the remainder of our visit. ![]() There was a larger table of patrons that had left from one long table and two other empty tables outside upstairs. We asked for three extra seats so those individuals could move into the shade, and the bar service staff member declined indicating that they could not do this and that 'the sun is the sun". As we sat the sun moved, and half our table seated on the bench seating lost the shade. Be aware that if you sit outside upstairs that they sun may be beating down on you in the heat. We observed mostly adults in this restaurant and did not feel that it is very kid-friendly. We were seated outside upstairs, and it was a little quieter except that you do get city noise/wind. Others liked their two egg breakfast, pancakes, and avocado toast. The server offered to replace the dish, but by then, I no longer had an appetite. However, I found a hair in my dish after I had eaten about 1/3 of it. The Farmer's Brunch was good with adequately cooked vegetables, scrambled eggs, sausage, and sourdough toast. If only they were all offering her level of customer service!įood: The food was pleasing and acceptable to some of our party while others did not find their meals appetizing, unfortunately. However, nearly halfway through our meal, we got a new server who was much friendlier and more attentive. She single-handedly ruined our experience. The second server was very snarky and condescending to several members of our party throughout our entire experience here. I am not sure why two people were needed for this task unless he was being trained, which that did not appear to be the case. Later, he returned with one other server who asked us for our orders while he wrote them down. ![]() One of the servers quickly took drink orders and did not gather all of the drink orders. There were servers in the bar area upstairs that took our drink and meal orders and they were not very friendly or attentive. Our party received mostly poor customer service from various staff at this restaurant. poor customer service.Ĭustomer Service: I get a sense that this is not a priority issue for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I wish I would have read the reviews a little closer as I probably would've chosen a different restaurant due to some of the mentions of. Our party decided to try out this restaurant based on the downtown location, Yelp ratings, and interesting menu.
